Shalini Mohan is a Bangalore based musician. Her journey in music started with the piano before turning her passion towards the bass, completing her music theory exams in ABRSM and also plays the trumpet. She is also a distinction Diploma student of the London College of Music (popular vocals). Passionate about grooves and soulful solos, She has toured with artists like Vasundhara das, Lounge Piranha, Lagori, Suresh Peters & Sanjeev T. She is also the founder member of the band “Ginny & the bottle”.
Your Course Rundown
In these lessons, Shalini focuses on construction of arpeggios (a chord played one note at a time) on the bass, their various shapes, using them up and down the fretboard, the various inversions possible and the use of these arpeggios in songs. She begins by revisiting the major scale, which forms a reference for all the lessons.
What do I need to start this course?
All you need is a bass guitar with an amp or laptop.
Who is this for?
This is an intermediate course. To understand these lessons, you would need to have fluency in playing simple bass lines and navigating the bass guitar. Theory is refreshed from the start in this course, so no prior theory knowledge is really necessary.
